With over twenty years experience as a TA in SEND settings and mainstream schools I have a good understanding of the pressures and difficulties school staff face in providing children with a good education. This is hindered if pupils are experiencing difficulties with emotions, behaviour, learning or at times when families are in crisis or upheaval.

​Using creative play and the arts along with talking therapies is an extremely effective way of getting to the core of a child's problems.

I received my training as schools counsellor at a college run by the CEO of Trauma Informed Schools and Communities UK. This is therapy with an evidence base that shows it to be effective in improving the mental well being and learning outcomes of young people.

 

All of my work is overseen by a very qualified and experienced Clinical Supervisor.

​I am an advocate of working in the school triangle of staff, child and their parents/guardians and my work has a warm, inclusive, child led and collaborative focus.

​

​My aim is to get children to a place of good mental health, well being and school engagement.
